The New Moon is the optimal time to lovingly plant the seeds of our intentions, so that with our subsequent care and attention, our intentions can grow and flourish along with the light of the Moon as it grows brighter throughout the lunar cycle.
At this New Moon Intentions event, join Kathleen Gassman to discuss how to work with the current new Moon in the sign of the Zodiac that it is occurring, based on the astrology of the time, and what house the new Moon occurs in your personal natal chart.
If you already have a copy of your natal horoscope, feel free to bring that to the event so that we can determine in which Zodiacal house this new Moon is occurring for you. Alternatively, feel free to reach out to me at chitchatastrology@gmail.com prior to the event, and I will email your natal chart to you, or you can look up your own natal chart at www.astro.com. I will also be able to look up your chart at the event if you know your birth time, date, and location. If you don’t have an accurate birth time, we can still look up your chart, but we won’t know the placement of the Zodiacal houses without an accurate birth time. Also please bring a journal or notebook so that you can put your intentions down on the page, the first step toward bringing those intentions into form.

Nature Spirits
Yoga and Sacred Ceremony
Summer Series at Harvest Preserve
Erica Miller - Inspirit
Nature Spirits: Yoga & Sacred Ceremony is a 7-week outdoor series held at the breathtaking Harvest Preserve in Iowa City. Each gathering is a doorway into a different element of the natural world, woven together through yoga, meditation, and sacred ceremony.
No two sessions are alike. Some will call you out under the cover of night as we greet the Spirit of the Buck Moon; others will greet you at first light with the Spirit of the Rising Sun. We will connect with the Nature Spirits throughout various areas in the living landscape of Harvest Preserve — Spirit of the Trees in the forest, Spirit of the Water at the pond, Spirit of the Stones at the sacred stone circle.
At the heart of this series is an animist understanding of the world — the ancient, cross-cultural recognition that all of nature is alive, ensouled, and in relationship with us. The trees, the stars, the stones — each carries their own presence, their own wisdom, their own spirit. This series is an invitation to create connection & conversation with the living world.
Our practice is open to all levels — whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, whether you have attended ceremonies before or are simply curious. What matters is a willingness to show up, be present, and connect — with nature, with community, and with yourself.
Harvest Preserve is typically a private, members-only sanctuary. This series is a rare opportunity for the public to experience its magic.

Celebrate the summer solstice by slowing down and communing with the natural world. The afternoon of the solstice we will engage in the practice of forest bathing and create floral folk crowns.
We will explore the meanings of the solstice as part of a cycle of our natural world and how these themes might present themselves in our own lives.
We will discuss a brief history of the purpose of floral headdresses and provide step-by-step directions for making one of your own. We will also review best ways to preserve your flower crown as decorative adornment or ritualistic use.
We will then bring these creative pieces into the forest to offer presence to self and the more-than-human-world through experiential nature and forest therapy practices.
This is an offering of recalibration and regulation for your own internal ecosystem, you are invited.
