News & Events
Last month realtor Toni Rubin informed us that for the month of February she has chosen Harvest Preserve Foundation, Inc. as the “Place of the Month” for her real estate blog. It is a blog for newcomers to the Iowa City area that highlights some points of interest. We are very excited to be included in that category! She also included several photos from our website, including some of our photography contest winners.
If you are interested in learning how Harvest Preserve Foundation, Inc. started, check it out! www.theiowacityblog.com.
Thanks Toni!
In October 2009, the Harvest Preserve Foundation, Inc. received a donation of 100 acres of land from Harvest Farm & Preserve LLC. It is the mission of the Harvest Preserve Foundation to restore, protect, and preserve this land as a contemplative spiritual sanctuary. This beautiful parcel will be known as The Harvest Preserve. The preserve is holy ground where invited guests may quietly commune with the land. It is a place to feel welcome, embraced, and open-hearted, and to indulge in the awe and wonder of nature.
The Harvest Preserve contains a number of interesting features: a one-acre pond, Laguna Linda; a picnic shelter on the pond, Casita Laguna; a woodland patio, Whitman’s Glade; inspiring bronze and stone sculptures, 17 acres of forest reserve; and our prairie restoration project. Our website is now designated to reflect the mission of Harvest Preserve Foundation and highlight aspects of The Harvest Preserve property. If you have any questions about The Harvest Preserve or our visitation policy, please contact Julie (Julie@harvestpreserve.org).
